The Kids Cook Monday is proud to partner with the Food Management Institute (FMI) in promoting National Family Meals Month.
FMI is on a mission to highlight the role your local grocery store plays in helping you get healthy, family friendly meals on the table each night. But family meals aren’t just about nutrition, they’re also a time for families to check in and spend additional quality time together. Research shows that:
- Family meals are associated with better academic performance for kids
- Kids who regularly eat with their families are less likely to try drugs and alcohol
- Families eat more nutritious food when they eat dinner together
- Parents and kids who eat family meals are less likely to be obese
