With the start of the 2016-2017 school year, The Kids Cook Monday has embarked on a partnership with The National PTA. On the success of Kids Cook Monday “Family Cooking Night” events hosted by local school PTA wellness committees and the state-wide adoption of the Kids Cook Monday initiative by the West Virginia PTA, the National PTA will now be sharing Kids Cook Monday tips, resources and recipes for parents and educators on their website, Our Children. Earlier this year, the National PTA published a guide on how to run the Kids Cook Monday school program in the annual print version of Our Children written by The Kids Cook Monday’s resident expert Diana Rice, a registered dietitian with extensive experience in children’s culinary education.
“I’m so excited to be embarking on a partnership with the National PTA. The goal of the Kids Cook Monday initiative is to help families learn together and live healthier, more enriching lives and I can’t think of a better partner who shares the same goals than the National PTA,” Rice says.
Look out for The Kids Cook Monday in a school near you, or bring it to your local school with the Kids Cook Monday School Program. Later this year, the initiative will also be embarking on a partnership with FoodCorps, a national nonprofit that connects kids to healthy food at school!
