These grilled pizzas use naan bread as a base, which makes them both easy to assemble and extra delicious! This recipe comes to us from our friends Stonefire Naan.
Serves 4
Food for Thought: Naan is a style of bread that comes from Southeast Asia and the Middle East. It’s a little bit like pita bread because it’s flat, but it’s cooked in a special type of oven called a tandoor, where it actually sticks to the side of the oven while cooking! These ovens are traditionally made out of clay and burn wood for heat. Naan is often served a side dish to dishes like curries and used to scoop up some of the flavorful sauce, but it’s also great for sandwiches and pizza.
Cooking Tip of the Week: Store basil in a glass of water on the countertop just like you would do with fresh flowers. It’s a heat-loving plant and wilts quickly in the refrigerator.
