We’re thrilled that Laurie David has been writing The Kids Cook Monday posts every week on her Family Dinner Book Blog since Day 1 of our movement. Now the author of the perfect guide to those memorable meals has released a valuable video chronicling her 5 family food rules.
“No screens of any kind” Laurie proudly proclaims, “that means no TV, no cell phones.” Laurie goes on to share her wisdom about a variety of common conflicts, from how to spice up a glass of water to expanding the length of dinners by using healthy desserts as a boundary for the meal. She closes with keeping the family in family dinners. “Cook for your family, don’t cook for your kids. Make family friendly food… Everyone tries everything, every time. It also shows respect for the person who cooked it, which is important.”
Look out for more family food rules from Parent Earth in the weeks to come, like this one from The Office’s Melora Hardin. Does your family have any food rules? Share your own family’s food rules with our facebook community.
