Kids Camps Teach Culinary Survival Skills in 2013

The Kids Cook Monday has teamed up with the American Camp Association to promote health and wellness with our new educational toolkit.

Children will receive a healthier camp experience in 2013 thanks to The Kids Cook Monday! The American Camp Association is sharing our educators’ toolkit with its network of over 2,400 camps across the U.S. The toolkit is now available for download on the association’s website and will be shared with over 95,000 camp counselors and directors through the ACA’s weekly newsletter.

Camp offers a unique opportunity to engage small groups of students in longer activities that help them build skills over time. Overnight facilities can show campers how to prepare a healthy meal for their peers, while day and weekend camps can start students on a new culinary skill and provide take-home recipes to reinforce the lesson.

With over 100 years of experience and knowledge, the American Camp Association provides only the best tools and resources to help children “learn powerful lessons in community, character-building, skill development, and healthy living.” To get a head start on finding the prefect camp, check out the ACA’s interactive search tool.
